I’ve been really getting into Bibio. His music has the nostalgic warped and bent feel of Boards of Canada, but is much more varied. Plus he put out 3 records and 1 ep this year. I recommend Ambivalence Avenue for a starting point. Some of it borders on NPR Dad guitar, but most of it is really great and fresh.

Much praise from this PopMatters writer. Awesome.

SURPRISE! QUICK OUTDOOR SUNDAY SUNSET SHOW!!!
(Show’s at the yellow mark, parking is probably easiest around the blue streets. Here’s the full map)
5pm SHARP at the hill in Como Park. The sun sets at 5:22 . It will be a maximum fun time. It’s supposed to be in the 60s that day. C’maaaan…you’re not busy then.
(If you don’t have it, you can download our song “Willis The Fireman” if you want to sing along.
WEAR YELLOW!!!
Met some super-nice kids in Brooklyn. Kristen and Jeff are a brother-sister duo from the band Tens of Thousands. Got them to do a song outside Pete’s (there’s a magical change of scene halfway through because we were asked not to be so loud outside). It’s gonna get stuck in your heeeaad… -Luke

This band is incredibly underrated. They are great. There’s a new record by them out today. It’s a dreamwarp. Czech it out.

I just met Os Mutantes backstage in Columbus. I freaked out like those girls in the 60s with The Beatles. I hugged Sergio Dias and got to tell him what a tremendous inspiration he and Mutantes have been to me and on the music I’ve been a part of and I gave him and 3 other Mutantes copies of NATURE. If you’ve never listened to this band you owe it to yourself to check out Their first record Os Mutantes and go from there.
Love,
Carlos
