I’ve stumbled onto something kind of strange and good in my last few days of writing. In my mind it’s like this late 70s synth-organic jazz thing that sounds like walking home at night after a long day through a park and the stars are much closer, almost eye level. It’s got the dummy name “STARPARK” just for mood until I write some lyrics for it. I think it’s pretty good. The melody is one of my best in a long time. It’ll be a bit before it’s presentable in any form. I can’t tell if it should swing or not. I also have been writing lyrics to a song with the dummy title “waifs, strays & orphans”. It’s kind of my stock-in-trade gut wrenching folk song, but I want to take it some place else and flesh it out with the band. I can’t tell if the verse melody is stolen from something else. I’ll have to check with the band and if it is, it’s back to square one.

P.S. I dummy title everything before I write it to keep it straight.
